E. Shane Hoffman, DAOM, MAcOM, LAc

E. Shane Hoffman, DAOM, MAcOM, LAc, trained at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine under the leading physicians of China, including Dr. Shizeng Yang, qigong therapist to the People's Republic of China Olympic Gymnastics Team; and Dr. Gouhui Liu author on TCM classics and male genito-urinary disorders including male infertility.
While pursuing studies, Shane was named to the national AIDS Activist Circle for work in designing, creating and implementing an education, advocacy and peer support program for people living with HIV.
In Portland Shane had been part of the clinic team at The Institute for Traditional Medicine (ITM). The Institute is well known for it's innovative work in developing protocols to apply Traditional Chinese Medicine to modern health issues such as HIV and CFS, MS, breast cancer, hepatitis, chronic pain and menopause. Shane also maintained a private practice in Oregon, treating everything from acne and allergies to shingles and tinnitus, with particular focus on athletic and performing arts related health.
During the last seven years that he has practiced in New York, he has added female infertility treatment to his areas of specialization
Having studied and practiced various traditions of Tai Chi, Qi Gong and yoga for the past 14 years, Shane's work is informed by these healing disciplines.
Shane is certified by the National Council for the Certification of Acupuncturists and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed by the state of New York. He is an active member in the National Sports Acupuncture Association and the National Association of Oriental Medicine. In May 2007, Shane completed the coursework for a doctoral degree in Oriental Medicine (DAOM) at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.
Shane has been in practice at Turning Point since 1999. He assumed the directorship in 2007

Kymberly Kelly MS, LAc

Kymberly Kelly MS, LAc earned her Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA. She is a board certified diplomate of both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine by the NCCAOM and is licensed in California and New York.
Kymberly has studied both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture and treats a wide variety of complaints. She has special interest in internal medicine, specifically digestive disorders, headaches, and women's health including fertility. Additionally, she is certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and offers this unique service at Turning Point.
Prior to pursuing Chinese medicine, Kymberly was living in South America teaching English as a second language. She enjoys travel and foreign languages.

Karen Ortiz, L.Ac, DOM

Karen Ortiz graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Manhattan, New York. In addition to her Master's of Science Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM), Karen is nationally board certified by the National Commission (NCCAOM) in Oriental medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and holds New York licensure to practice Oriental medicine. Prior to pursing studies in traditional Oriental medicine, Karen received an Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy.
By combining a strong background in Western science with Traditional Chinese Medicine, Karen creates a holistic and beneficial approach to help people with their health and healing. She strongly believes in patient education, nutrition and lifestyle change. Karen earned the distinction of working with The Initiative for Women with Diabilities, an innovative program serving women in severe pain with the best of biomedicine and acupuncture care at the Hospital for Joint Diseases. Her primary fields of concentration are orthopedics, pain management, stress reduction, mental and emotional health. At Turning Point, Karen has received specialty training gynecology, women’s health management, fertility support, pregnancy care and labor preparation. Karen is a bright and insightful practitioner. We are lucky to enjoy her company and our patients are fortunate to have the chance to receive her excellent treatment.

Amanda J. Silver, MS, LAc

Amanda Silver is New York State licensed and nationally certified in acupuncture and herbal medicine (NCCAOM). Her education includes both Eastern and Western medicine. She has studied Chinese and Japanese acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, where she earned her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM). She attended the Meridian Therapy Summer College in Tokyo, Japan, where she had the honor of studying Japanese style acupuncture with Somei Okada, Masakazu Ikeda and Denmei Shudo. Additionally, Amanda is a Member in good standing of the Acupuncture Society of New York and the American Association of Oriental Medicine.
Amanda draws upon her extensive experience in the healing disciplines, tailoring the course of treatment specific to the needs of each individual. Amanda specializes in gynecological conditions and reproductive disorders, helping woman to conceive with acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition, whether through natural methods or in conjunction with Western intervention (IUI, IVF).

Naomi Rabinowitz, MD

Dr. Rabinowitz is a graduate of SUNY-Downstate Medical School. She did post graduate training at Beth Israel Hospital in New York. Training in Traditional Chinese Medicine was acquired by apprenticeship, including working six years at the world-renowned acupuncture facility at Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx. At Lincoln, she was one of the founding members of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. She has been in private practice since 1986. Her credentials include: NYS license to practice Medicine and Surgery, NYS certification to practice Acupuncture, and NCCA (National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists) diplomate certification. Dr. Rabinowitz did pioneering work using Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Currently she is particularly interested in treating women's gynecological and fertility issues including menopause. Healthy Aging is a new area of focus. In her general practice she treats a wide variety of general medical problems that include arthritis, sports injuries, asthma, stress-related syndromes, headache, carpal tunnel, etc.
Dr. Rabinowitz is now practicing medicine and acupuncture in the state of Colorado at Longmont Acupuncture.
